The Best of Naples

Despite the best of intentions, we've been a bit remiss keeping our readers up to date with our adventures in Naples. Early starts, full days, full stomachs and 35 degree days have made the bed and the air-con the winning activities once the day is done. That has to stop now, because we're off to Sorrento in the morning and I expect it'll be much of the same again. So here we go, not in any particular order. In fact, let's start with today as our minds are fresh with the experiences and the photos are on top of the cloud storage :) It started off a bit sad, as we had to give our Vespa back to her owners. We had some great times. Here is the last photo, taken in the courtyard of our BnB...
We racked up a lot of kilometres. Lucky the hire was 'unlimited kilometres'! Anyway, after handing 'Annare' back to her owners we proceeded to the docks and got on a ferry to 'Procida', a little island just before you get to Ischia, which is the summer holiday playground for the Neopolitans. Procida is a lot more tranquil than Ischia and there are still many people coming back from Ischia. Procida is very hilly, but we got around by bus mostly and spent a goodly amount of time on 'Il dolce fa niente' also. Here is a photo of The Princess admiring the view of the fishing village of Coricella
We spent some time in different places drinking coffee and granitas and wine and eating seafood
We have been doing a lot of eating and drinking and I'm thinking I'm going to have to go a bit easy if I don't want to have to buy a new wardrobe to continue the adventures! Here is a photo of one of the waiters at the restaurant we frequent most nights
We rode some way up North the other day and had lunch in a restaurant with the most amazing views across the bay of Naples and just as we started to eat, a storm blew in from the East and went over Vesuvius and then Sorrento. Very specatacular. Pity I didn't get any of the lightning in the photos!
I've gotta hit the sack now, so I'll just quickly leave some photos of other stuff :) sorry... Here is one of our street...
and here is one of the plaza just down the street...
Here is a photo of one of the streets just down the hill. Saturday night is a big thing here!
OK, that's all I've got for you for the moment. Sorrento tomorrow! Yahooo!
